Yet another rockumentary I desperately need to watch. I saw them in Denver circa 1996 but we had shitty seats so I can't really comment on the quality of their performance. Blood Sugar Sex Magik (as well as their cover of Higher Ground) is still my favorite sound from them but they've stood the test of time, for sure. Thanks for the deep dive and share.

There’s also VH1’s Behind the Music on YouTube, which they aired in 1999. That actually really filled in a lot of information for me in writing this post. Both documentaries are fantastic (there’s that word again).

I love the anthological feel of this piece. I always enjoy learning more secrets about our musical heroes and this was on point, Brain. I love the RHCP and you brought those emotions to light. Great job! 🙌🏼❤️

If I had written this a month ago, the whole first half of this post would not have been written. It would just gone right into the record and hardly any mention of the history that led up to this point. This was the first time that Anthony and John were fully rehabbed and did not relapse. It finally allowed some continuity for the band to produce a decade’s worth of great music.

This makes me so nostalgic for the aura of this era. Another banger J-Hawk!

Thank you J! I need to catch up on our convo with Sal. I might get to that until tonight, but I intended on joining the discussion!
